Maharaj is a period drama film based on real life events, directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF Entertainment. It starring Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan (in his debut) and Jaideep Ahlawat, is based on the Maharaj Libel Case and Saurabh Shah’s novel.
The film is based on a real-life libel case that happened in 1862, and both Karsandas Mulji and Maharaj Jadunathji are real people portrayed in the film.
4. Lapatta ladies
Lapatta Ladies is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Kiran Rao. The film is produced by koran Rao, Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande. It stars Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan in the lead roles and tells the story of two young brides who switch places at their husbands’ houses during a train ride. The film is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s 1906 novel Naukadubi, which revolves around a case of mistaken identity. The novel has been adapted several times on celluloid. Dilip Kumar-starrer Milan Aur Ghunghat was also based on it. The film was screened at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival on 8 September 2023, and was theatrically released on 1 March 2024. The film received positive reviews from critics and audiences and its story, screenplay and the performances of the cast were praised . Lapatta ladies is must watch on weekends.

Crew is Directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan and written by Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Digvijay Purohit under Balaji Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films and Communication Network, it stars Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon with Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in supporting roles. The film follows three air hostesses who get involved in a gold smuggling operation. Crew was theatrically released on 29 March 2024 to positive reviews from critics.

Trigger Warning is a 2024 American action thriller film starring Jessica Alba as a skilled special forces officer who takes over ownership of her father’s bar shortly after his death, and soon finds herself at odds with the violent gangs running rampant in her hometown. It is directed by Molly Surya in her English-language film debut, and written by John Brancato, Josh Olson, and Halley Gross. It is produced by Thunder Road Films and Lady Spitfire. It also stars Mark Webber, Tone Bell, Jake Weary, Gabriel Basso, and Anthony Michael Hall.
7. Under Paris
Under Paris is a 2024 French action-horror disaster film directed by Xavier Gens, who co-wrote it with Yannick Dahan, Maud Hewang, and Yaël Langmann. It stars Berenice Bejo as a grieving marine biologist who is forced to confront her tragic past to save Paris from a bloodbath when a giant shark appears in the Seine. Produced on a budget of €19.6 million, the film was released by Netflix on 5 June 2024 and initially received mixed-to-positive reviews, with some critics comparing it to Jaws and other films in the shark movie genre.

Shaitan is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language supernatural horror film directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Devgn Films, Jio Studios and Panorama Studios. The film, a remake of the 2023 Gujarati film Vash, stars Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika, Angad Raj and Janaki Bodiwala, who reprise their roles from the original film. The film revolves around a family that finds trouble when their daughter falls under the spell of a stranger’s black magic and they set out to stop the possession and uncover the stranger’s intentions.
